With a marketplace presence of more than three decades, GEOCONTROLE - Geotecnia e Estruturas de Fundação, S.A. is the result of a project full of ambition which is currently considered and to some extent, as one of the major companies in the geotechnical scenery in Portugal and a major reference in the sector. On the basis of its founding, in the distant year of 1975, was the provision of geotechnical ground investigation and laboratory of soils and rocks mechanics, activities that still continue to represent a significant component of the company and in a way, its primary business trade.

Until it reaches its current situation, Geocontrole has been growing in a sustained and balanced approach, as result of market strategic policy based on consolidation and growing of permanent trade relations with its clients. Reflection of this was the extent of business to the area of special foundations and geotechnical engineering works, especially since 2000.

In order to meet the customer expectations, organisation and managing efforts were made to establish a Quality Management System (QMS), being the company certified by BV (Bureau Veritas Certification) since 2001, according to the NP EN ISO 9001 Standard. The Laboratory of soil and rock mechanics of Geocontrole, beyond this system, has several tests that are accredited according to NP EN ISO/IEC 17025 Standard.

Inserted in a business area with a strong component of learning and innovation, along with constant progress and development of the state of the art, it has been Geocontrole policy for permanent investment in the latest technologies, some of which assuming exclusiveness in the national market. The company has, since 2002, a Research and Development Department (R&D), and has promoted several projects, sometimes in partnership and close collaboration with public organizations and agencies.

Currently, Geocontrole is structured with human resources and qualified staff to act in various fields of consultancy and geotechnical investigation, namely special foundations, observation and geotechnical instrumentation, quality control of materials and soil, rock and concrete mechanics laboratory testing.
